Can i get an auto loan directly from my bank?

Or do i have to through the dealer? if so could i take it out a little bigger as to have some work done to the car with the same loan?

If you go thru your bank you can get a loan for the amount the bank thinks the car is worth. If you want to take out a larger loan to have work done on the car you should try taking out a personal loan and not a loan for the car. It might be easier to go thru the auto dealer since they usually work with more than one lender in order to get more people financed. But you wound't be able to finance more than the value of teh car.

Some banks offer auto loans at competitive interest rates. Check with the local branch of the bank in which you have your savings and/or checking account.



As for getting a loan for a larger amount than the car's value, I don't think that's possible (either from a bank or dealer) since the loan is guaranteed by the vehicle's value IN STOCK CONDITION! Good luck!
