New Auto Loan?

In February I would like to get a new car loan. We are looking at the Nissan Altima. My current credit score is 660 but will be 680 by Feb. I will have no credit card debt and about 4-5 grand for a down payment. I make 2000 a month, BUT, I pay NO BILLS. I am in the military and live on base so I dont pay for rent, electricity, water, heat....NOTHING!!!! The only bills I have are cable, phone, insurance, and car payment. They total around 800 a month. That would leave me with 1200 disposable income. My wife is military too and makes the same amount. That means at the end of the month, we have roughly 3200 disposable income. Would it be a problem getting an auto loan for roughly 17,000 for a new car?

Without doing all the calculations, it appears to me that you are in pretty good shape

New Auto Loan?

You forget by next summer, maybe $400 a month in fuel.Pay cash for a used one.Buy a home instead, something that will build value, and not rust.

i agree with doc, but if u must buy a car hit the base credit union for the best deal, if u r an e-4 or better check out u.s.a.a.insurance if you havent heard of them get a hold of any 0-3 or better that has been around a while and they can tell you about usaa or better yet call them at 1-800-531-8111

You should be fine except that a 660 credit score is slightly low and many lenders will consider you %26quot;sub-prime%26quot; which means higher interest rates and larger down payments.

A score of 680 could put you into prime territory with some lenders but others consider 700 and above as prime.

Well you are in good shape to buy a car.A 660 score is not the best it is not the worst. You may want to shop your bank and the base credit union Personally I will not buy a car made by a foreign manufacturer. I will only by from American car company's.

New Auto Loan?

GO FOR IT AND EVERYTHING SOUNDS REALLY GOOD.
